International Conference: Education for Sustainable Development and Global Citizenship
This International Conference will share the results the Erasmus+ KA2 Strategic Partnership project on Education for Sustainable Development and Global Citizenship (ESDGC) in the context of the Sustainable Development Goals agreed by world leaders, and the need to develop the capacities to navigate an increasingly globalised, interdependent and digitally-interconnected world.
The project aimed to promote education for sustainable development and global citizenship in adult education through capacity building in organisations providing adult learning by formulating competence frameworks for sustainable development and improving the competences of adult educators.
The project was carried out by six organisations from six European countries:
- Global Learning & Skills Partnership (GLaSP) (UK)
- Brigada do Mar (Portugal)
- Centrul pentru Formare Profesionala si Dezvoltare Regionala (CFPDR) (Romania)
- GreenRope (Italy)
- Hotel Management College (Hotel School) (Latvia)
- Stichting voor Educatie- Cultuur- en Migratie Onderzoek (SECMO) (Netherlands)
Participants will engage in wider discussions about the role of educators and how they can be supported in acquiring the necessary knowledge, skills, values needed introduce ESDGC into teaching in general and their work with adults in particular.
Participants will be given access to the products developed by the project including a competence framework for education for sustainable development and global citizenship, a course in global education for educators, teaching resources and guidance for introducing global learning.
